Amanda filed petition for divorce and stated that Alexander owned land on the Ohio river in the upper end of Forman's Bottom of 130-200 acres, with a brick house in Vanceburg. She also stated that her father, Thomas Bragg had left her land on the Ohio River near Vanceburg where her widowed mother lives with some slaves.
���Alexander in his answer, states they met as children by accident and a trivial incident attached them to one another until they arrived at maturity and were married.
���In the deposition of Henry C. Bruce, taken March 22,1842, says he is the son of the plaintiff (Amanda) and that he left home six years ago. He has a brother, Thomas Bruce. He also said that three of Alexander and Amanda's sons are well able to support her.
���The divorce was granted and the estate was divided. Other persons giving depositions for the proceedings were:

���(2) Lucy Bragg, on June 1, 1842, says her husband, Thomas Bragg, who was the father of Amanda Bruce, died upwards of 20 years ago, leaving his widow and seven children.

���Then on 22 June 1855 Judy made an oath for the purpose of obtaining Bounty Land for the services of Joseph in the War of 1812. "Stated she was 85 years of age and a resident of Greenbrier Co. and that she was the widow of Joseph Bragg, and that she had received a land warrant for 80 acres #57.219 for services of her husband. She stated that she was married to Joseph on 11 Dec 1803 in the county of Greenbrier and Joseph died in Greenbrier Co. 11 Mar 1836 and that her maiden name was Judith Adkins.
���Judy also applied for a Widows pension 17 June 1871 when she was living in Richmond Falls, Summers Co., WV and claimed she was 104 years of age. It was received 23 June 1871 by Robert H. Gibson (Attorney) in Greenbrier Co., WV. This one was rejected on 2 April 1873.
���Judy then makes a declaration for a Widows pension again on 16 Aug 1873 stating that she is 106 years of age, that she is the widow of Joseph Bragg and she is not drawing a pension under any other act. This was witnessed by Allen Meadows and Ira Bragg also.
���Then on the 26 Sep 1873 at Hinton, Summers Co., WV Ira Bragg and Allen Meadows testified to the loyalty of Judy Bragg. Judy applied again for a pension and on 9 October 1873 she was awarded $8.00 a month commencing 14 Feb 1871.176

Amanda filed petition for divorce and stated that Alexander owned land on the Ohio river in the upper end of Forman's Bottom of 130-200 acres, with a brick house in Vanceburg. She also stated that her father, Thomas Bragg had left her land on the Ohio River near Vanceburg where her widowed mother lives with some slaves.
���Alexander in his answer, states they met as children by accident and a trivial incident attached them to one another until they arrived at maturity and were married.
���In the deposition of Henry C. Bruce, taken March 22,1842, says he is the son of the plaintiff (Amanda) and that he left home six years ago. He has a brother, Thomas Bruce. He also said that three of Alexander and Amanda's sons are well able to support her.
���The divorce was granted and the estate was divided. Other persons giving depositions for the proceedings were:

"Stated she was 85 years of age and a resident of Greenbrier Co. and that she was the widow of Joseph Bragg, and that she had received a land warrant for 80 acres #57.219 for services of her husband. She stated that she was married to Joseph on 11 Dec 1803 in the county of Greenbrier and Joseph died in Greenbrier Co. 11 Mar 1836 and that her maiden name was Judith Adkins.
���Judy also applied for a Widows pension 17 June 1871 when she was living in Richmond Falls, Summers Co., WV and claimed she was 104 years of age. It was received 23 June 1871 by Robert H. Gibson (Attorney) in Greenbrier Co., WV. This one was rejected on 2 April 1873.
���Judy then makes a declaration for a Widows pension again on 16 Aug 1873 stating that she is 106 years of age, that she is the widow of Joseph Bragg and she is not drawing a pension under any other act. This was witnessed by Allen Meadows and Ira Bragg also.
���Then on the 26 Sep 1873 at Hinton, Summers Co., WV Ira Bragg and Allen Meadows testified to the loyalty of Judy Bragg. Judy applied again for a pension and on 9 October 1873 she was awarded $8.00 a month commencing 14 Feb 1871.176
